Pray for the President of the United States and the cabinet.
February 24 is National Women’s Ministries Day in the Assemblies of God, a special day on our church calendar when we focus on ministry by and for women in our congregations across the nation.
The 2008 theme, “Jesus…More Than Enough,” is designed to encourage women to believe central truths about our Savior—His grace is enough to redeem; His power is enough to transform; His love is enough to trust; and His presence is enough to satisfy. Acts 17:25 in the New Living Translation tells us, “He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need there is.” If we sincerely allow the truth of this verse to penetrate our souls, our lives will be forever changed. Instead of thinking different circumstances will bring fulfillment, we would understand that our Creator—who gives us every breath—is waiting to meet our deepest needs.
Our prayer is for women across our Fellowship to grasp this life-changing truth—Jesus is more than enough and only He can satisfy the deepest longings of our soul.
The 2008 National Women’s Ministries Day service gives an opportunity for every church to honor the women of the church and encourage them to expand the ministries they currently share. Churches may wish to recognize women for their varied and valuable contributions to the ministries of the entire church.
National Women’s Ministries Day also allows each congregation an opportunity to give an offering to support the national Women’s Ministries Department. These offerings help continue the ministries provided to the women of the Assemblies of God across the nation and around the world.
Information for planning your National Women’s Ministries Day service was mailed mid-December. If your church has not received their packet containing a Magalog with program ideas, a sample bulletin cover and other theme-related items, call the national Women’s Ministries Department at 800-448-2235.
