Fix Your Thoughts on Jesus

Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the Word of God is full of living power. Nothing can pierce our hearts and build our faith like hearing God’s Word. This simple, yet powerful dramatic presentation can be done with two to nine women.

  • If two women are giving the presentation, they simply stand together in the front and center of the platform.
  • If you are using nine different women—the first woman should stand in the center of the platform while the other eight are standing in various places.
  • If you have lighting available—focus a light on each woman as she quotes her portion of the dialogue.
  • These verses should be memorized and presented with depth of understanding and conviction (it is not necessary to quote the references).
  • The words in bold should be spoken with emphasis.
  • You can download a Powerpoint presentation to project onto a large screen during the dialogue (see above to find the link with other downloadables).
  • If you have a musician in your church, you could arrange for her to play a medley that carries the theme of each portion of dialog.

First Woman: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

First Woman: For to us a child is born…

Second Woman: The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end" (Luke 1:30-33).

First Woman: To us a Son is given…

Second Woman or Third Woman: In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word (Hebrews 1:1-3).

First Woman: And the government will be on his shoulders…

Second Woman or Fourth Woman: But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy” (Hebrews 1:8-9).

First Woman: And He will be called Wonderful Counselor…

Second Woman or Fifth Woman: Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:14-16).

First Woman: Mighty God…

Second Woman or Sixth Woman: (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross (Colossians 1:15-20).

First Woman: Everlasting Father…

Second Woman or Seventh Woman: Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. I am in the Father, and the Father is in me. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him (John 14:6, 9, 11, 13, 21).

First Woman: Prince of Peace…

Second Woman or Eighth Woman: Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid (John 14:1-4, 27).

First Woman: His grace is enough…to redeem; His power is enough…to transform; His love is enough…to trust; His presence is enough…to satisfy.

All Women: He himself gives life and breath to everything! He satisfies every need there is (Acts 17:25, NLT)!

First Woman: Therefore, holy ones, fix your thoughts on Jesus (Hebrews 3:1)!
